SharkDefense is an internationally-recognized and award-winning research organization and think tank focused on shark bycatch
reduction. Its core research involves chemical and magnetic and electrochemical shark repellent technologies. SharkDefense's repellent experiments have been featured extensively in the US and European media and have been
published, awarded grants, or both. SharkDefense is the discoverer of the shark repellent effects of permanent magnets and electropositive metals. Current partners are Eric M. Stroud, Dr. Patrick Rice, and Craig P. O'Connell.
SharkDefense is also involved with the research and development of novel repellent compounds for the sea lamprey in the Great Lakes. |
